Embarking on a Surprise Hat-Trick!

I dont care about all the controversy. I mean, throughout history, up to and including today, someone is getting credit for the work of many others. Someone is taking home the trophy and the glory, someone as representative to an idea, an easy face for a cause, making it easier to forget any negative connotations. I never cared either way. Until, this morning, I learned that I do NOT have to come to WORK on Monday, because of this guy , and the fact that the courts will close for any little reason. Fuck, I had Caesar freakin Chavez Day off! But this was a nice little surprise. Im actually pissed that I didnt see it coming, I would have made some grand plans, Im sure.

Man, three-day weekend, boppin me on the head, I hardly know what to do with it. I should be happy, but all I can think is, why couldnt it be NEXT week? I have to go to LA, next week, I could really use that buffer day. Cest la vie, at least I have a day off, right? Hmm. I feel very good this morning, good for lack of a better word to describe this all-encompassing mmm sensation. I had a night in, complete with tasty food, beautiful images, and an intense foot-rub. Sigh. Good times, good times. Neat.

My father gets into town tonight, Im looking forward to seeing him, its been almost a month again. Hes here for a matter of days, and then goes right back out. Hell be in town long enough to take his four adult daughters to see Disney on Ice Wednesday night. Last year, it was Beauty and the Beast on ice, I think its the Classics this time. I spoke with Dad the other night, to let him know I got the tickets (leaving out the fact that it took an hour of me standing in blizzard-like breezes in a line full of crazy people okay, so it was a fairly sunny day, but the wind was STRONG at the Sports Arena!!) and he said, with the warmest smile evident in his voice, Well arent I lucky! This is going to be great! Im so happy that we are all able to get together, my sisters and me, and for my father to get to spend time with his four daughters, I know it brings him such joy, just as it does for us.

Im looking forward to the laughter. I mean, we are one group of funny fuckers. Im doing stomach crunches to prepare for the hilarity that is inevitably going to ensue. So, I may be missing Lizzie tonight, which is most unfortunate, because I love to hear that woman read her words, but I promised Id pick up Dad, and hes looking forward to seeing us. Tomorrow, dont forget, Earth Dance . Tomorrow night, Im supposed to meet up with some folks at Landlord Jims, well see if I get to that. Sunday, brunch at the Mission, and then holy shit, I have another WHOLE day to plan for!!

What to do, what to do. Make it a great weekend! Im sure mine will be just as fabulous as always.
