Today is my sisters birthday! Mother of my first nephew, pregnant with my second nephew. She is in New York right now with my mother and her son, all pregnant and traveling among the family while shes on spring break (shes a high school teacher). Last night I spent the evening with another sister, mother of my niece, and my father. We shared dinner and then Dad held the baby as we worked away on our laptops she for work, me for school.
I LOVE my sisters children. This is so exciting, to get to be around, so close to watch them grow, to be a part of all this. Its an amazing thing to watch, I look forward to hearing Aunt Barbarella, or maybe Ill make them call me something strange, something that might disturb the general public. Yo, auntie Biznitch, whats the haps? Adorable. Thats one thing that I look forward to doing, teaching my niece and nephews all the things of the world that they wont learn from their parents. And as we all know, Aunt Barbarella has a LOT to say, ALWAYS.
All is well in the family, except for the fact that I havent spoken to the youngest of our clan in almost two weeks. Shes having lunch with Dad today. I hope they have a good time, I know it means a lot to him to get to spend time with her, time laughing and talking. I have a wish, and that is to see this sister of mine relaxed and happy, not concerned with anger, whether it be directed outward or inward. Feeling GOOD. When someone loves herself, its so much easier to convince her she is loved by others. I have hope.
M.s. was adorable when he got home from his dinner party last night, though I was nearly comatose with exhaustion when he arrived. He met new people, he was clever and funny, and he had a great time. That made me happy. He came into the room, leaned over and kissed me, his lips took up residence on mine, and stayed there for what seemed like forever and not quite long enough. I tasted the wine and the smile in his kiss, and fell asleep with both on my lips.
