"We are not the same persons this year as last; nor are those we love. It is a happy chance if we, changing, continue to love a changed person." -- William Somerset Maugham

This weekend has been so much fun. There's plenty of work to do, things that were put off in the throes of gift-wrapping and family-time, but I'm not stressing too bad. It will get done, we'll do it. I'll send off my articles and the world won't end if they're not as early as usual.

I created a treasure hunt for M.s. -- eight rhyming riddles led him to his gifts, hidden throughout the house, all leading up to the big gift, a small set of Shun knives. We had a lovely evening last night, a glass of Moscato D'asti, savoring a quiet moment together, reflecting on the fun and chaos of hanging out with my family over the last two days.

I can't wait to try out my new, high-techie earphones with my iPod! I'd been bitching about the ones I have, how, when I'm on the eliptical (or however you spell it) I can still hear background noises and have to keep pushing the earpieces back in place. We go back to Charlie on Thursday, after his little holiday break, and I'll get to put these babies to the test! And probably have a better workout because of it.

I took a bunch of pictures over the last couple of days, so when I'm done with the bulk of my work, I'll take a break and load 'em up for you.

So much fun! Next year, when our place is mostly done (I say mostly, because places never are really done), we're having a holiday cocktail party. I'm already looking forward to it.
